Announcements is a module where instructors may broadcast information to part or all of a class.

Assignments
Assignments is a module for quizzes, graded Discussions, and Online submissions

Discussions
Discussions is a platform for students and instructors to conduct discussions.

Files
Files is a platform for instructors to see any files, media, and assignments that have been uploaded.

Grades
Grades hold information on each registered student's results on assignments. There are two parts of the Grades module: New Gradebook and SpeedGrader.

Home
The Home module is the first page that you see when you enter a course. The homepage can be set in the pages menu; Otherwise, it will be redirected to the modules by default.

iClicker
The Iclicker module is a location where students can register their iclickers.

Library Online Course Reserves
The Library Online Course Reserves holds any uploaded, online, scanned, and library resources which the instructor would like to share with the class.

Modules
The Modules allows instructors to organize any lecture material, files, quizzes, pages, etc.. Modules of the instructor's choosing can be locked, kept unpublished, have requirements and/or have prerequisites.

Pages
The Pages menu holds content and resources used in the course that are not apart of assignment. Content and resources can be files, links, media.

People
The People Menu shows everyone who is enrolled or added into the course.

Quizzes
The Quizzes Menu usually holds quizzes, or surveys.

Settings
The Settings Menu allows the instructor to change and update your course.

Syllabus
The Syllabus menu is a page which makes it easy for the instructor to write the course outline.

Account
The Account tab holds your profile, Settings, Notification, files, and ePortfolios.

Calendar
The Calendar tab shows a calendar with tasks from all courses.

Commons
Commons or "Canvas Commons" is a respository in which educators share courses and resources.

Courses
The Courses tab shows you which courses are currently shown in the Dashboard and all courses. You are able to edit which courses appear in the Dashboard

Dashboard
Dashboard shows all the courses that you are involved.

Inbox
Inbox is a messaging/conversation system within Canvas. You are able to communicate with others who are registered with Canvas.
